Ravens fans worried ‘Drake curse’ could strike at worst possible time

A simple birthday greeting appeared to spell disaster for Ravens fans on Tuesday, courtesy of Drake.

The rapper and Toronto Raptors superfan, whose unlucky streak with sports teams and athletes has been well-documented, celebrated quarterback Lamar Jackson’s 23rd birthday with a message on his Instagram story.

“More life happy birthday @new_era8!” Drake captioned the shot.

The post also featured “Truss” apparel, an apparent reference to the Ravens’ “Big Truss” catchphrase this season.

After the Ravens’ Twitter account shared the message, Baltimore’s fanbase — not to mention Jackson’s teammate — sounded the alarms.

“Nooooo tell Drake to leave LJ alone until after the Super Bowl brah…,” Ravens safety DeShon Elliott replied.

“Nooooooooo. Go away Drake,” a fan tweeted.

“Don’t curse our team please,” another posted.

Raptors fans were quick to defend Drake, noting the Raptors had ended the “curse” last year with their NBA Championship win.

“His raptors broke the curse,” a fan remarked.

The Twitterverse will likely be holding its collective breath Saturday when the Ravens face the Titans in the AFC divisional round.
